2004 2WD Limited rear suspension

My 2004 Sequoia (216,000 on odo) rear height suddenly increased (overnight). It's drastically affected the handling, even though I'd estimate the additional height is 2"+. Since an 04 does NOT have an air suspension, I'm assuming one of the shocks gave out and took the other one out at the same time? I do pull a small trailer (about 1500lbs) two weekends a month and the extra weight doesn't make the Sequoia ride any better (I thought the weight would stabilize the rear,,, no).

I'm thinking I've been 100% opposite in my reasoning... maybe the front has dropped
